Vaccination Recommendations

With the kids going back to school and flu season right around the corner, we wanted to remind you that we offer many vaccinations right here at the pharmacy, no appointment needed. Some insurances may cover all or part of vaccines or administration fees. Medicare A & B will cover Pneumonia and Flu. Check with your insurance for coverage.


Quadrivalent Flu Vaccine: Recommended for everyone.

High Dose Flu Vaccine: Recommended for those 65 and older.

COVID Vaccine & Boosters: Both Moderna and Pfizer.

Hepatitis A (Havrix): Recommended for travelers to certain countries and to anyone over 18 that did not previously receive it.

Hepatitis B (Engerix-B): Recommended for people under 60 who did not previously receive it or anyone over 60 with risk factors for hepatitis (sexually active in non-monogamous relationship, people who share needles, and people who have close contact with someone infected).

Pneumonia (Pneumovax 23, Prevnar 20, Prevnar 15): Recommended for anyone 18-64 with pre-existing conditions (diabetes, lung disease, smokers, immunocompromised) and/or anyone over 65. The recommendation on which pneumonia vaccine to get varies person to person.

Tdap (Boostrix): Recommended for protection from tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough) to anyone who hasn’t previously received or as a booster every ten years.

Shingles (Shingrix): Recommended for people 50 years old and older or anyone over 19 with an immunocompromising condition.


You can get any of these vaccinations from the trained pharmacists at Norland Avenue Pharmacy, Monday through Friday 9am-6pm and Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm without an appointment.
